Social Media Bullying

Life without technology is usually impossible for teens. They need become to rely on it as a way of life. Not solely are they ready to stay in touch with friends; however, they can also share a little bit regarding themselves in the method. One of the most popular ways for teenagers to remain in touch and let others understand what’s occurring in their lives is through Instagram. Insta is an online photo-sharing and social networking website that’s vastly popular.

In addition to photos, Instagram also permits teens to record and share 15-second videos. And whereas this social networking program could be a fun tool for teens, just like any other social networking website, it will be used to cyberbully and troll others.

For those that have experienced online bullying, 42 % report being bullied on Instagram, 37 % report being bullied on Facebook, and 31% are bullied on Snapchat.

Consequently, it becomes increasingly vital that parents are aware of; however, children are using Instagram to harass, intimidate and humiliate others. Here are the top eight ways that teens are using Instagram to cyberbully others.

Students who live in boarding schools in Dehradun belong to another state, only a mobile phone is the way to connect with their parents so every student has a mobile phone but the teachers are careful about this and keep eye on their student.

Posting Malicious or Embarrassing Photos

One way children gather their material is to catch others in compromising photos or videos known as “blackmail moments.” Then, they want to post these photos and videos to Instagram. Another tactic used to embarrass others is enjoying the “slap game.” This involves one person slapping someone whereas another person films the victim’s reaction. This reaction is then posted on Instagram to shame and humiliate another person.

Posting Cruel Remarks under a photograph

If your teen posts an image of her modeling a brand new outfit, others would possibly take this opportunity to create rude comments like “you’re therefore ugly” or “lose some weight.” There are also mean girl sayings on Instagram. An example would possibly include a girl commenting on another girl’s image with a comment like “girl did you know that you are too fatty.” The concept is to shame another girl for the way she appears. Comments can also take the form of slut-shaming.

Using the “Add People” Feature and Tagging a picture

If a bully and also the intended target aren’t following each other, the goal won’t be notified regarding the photo, nor can she be ready to see the tag, caption or comments.

As a result, the victim will be harassed and humiliated while not even knowing why.

Additionally, this kind of bullying could even filter over into the hallways at school. Your kid can haven not any plans why people are laughing and inform at her until someone clues her in.

Adding a Mean Hashtag below a photograph

While just about any hashtag will be used, here are many examples of what children would possibly post: #loser #whatnottowear and #ugly. Hashtags permit people to look for various topics, like #whatnottowear, and your child’s photo may become exposed to a broader audience. This exposure will cause a young adult to feel like the whole world is happy at her.

Creating a fake Account

There are two ways that bullies exploit your kid with a fake account. They either transfer mean and embarrassing photos of your kid, or they post mean quotes and photos regarding people. These rude comments appear as if they’re coming from your child and people assume your child is that the one behind the bullying behavior. This will injury your child’s online reputation and cause her to be ostracized. It can also cause her to get in trouble in school, with coaches and employers until it’s verified that the account could be a fake.

Posting Screenshots of private Text Messages

In this scenario, your teen’s personal thoughts suddenly are created public. As an example, if you’re teen texted someone in confidence regarding her difficulties with another student, that conversation will be copied with a screenshot and posted to Instagram. Once this happens, everybody will see her thoughts together with the person the private chat was about.

Conclusion

Students are mostly involved in social media activity to touch with friends and family. Mostly schools in Dehradun do not allow students to bring mobile phones in the school if students break the rules then strict action is taken against them.

Remember, talking to your children regarding internet dangers is the first step to combat cyberbullying on Instagram. It would be best if you also educated them on the way to use technology safely and responsibly. Instagram is just like any other social networking website and needs that your children practice basic internet safety. With correct education regarding the dangers, along with regular communication and a few observances on your part, you’ll be able to facilitate in preventing Instagram bullying in your child’s life.
