According to Ecole Globale, many travel bloggers have reported that their travel schedule was significantly affected in the light of the global pandemic outbreak.
The current situation has influenced many corporations and industries. The lockdown, implemented in numerous countries, has imposed strict restrictions on the people related to movement and travel. Business tours, conferences, and meetings are canceled or postponed and boarding schools must actively support all those whose plans have been compromised by the current situation by proper conversations with parents and pupils according to the government advisory. People have also withdrawn their travel plans to curb the virus spread and prepare for the worst-case scenario. The first quarter of the year 2020 has experienced a massive slowdown concerning the lockdown. Firms and travelers have postponed their activities for the second and third quarters in the hope of the situation getting better.
Although, the medical health officials have confirmed that the virus prevalence will not be over anytime soon. Vaccine development will take a considerable amount of time, and until then, nothing can be anticipated accurately.

- 60% of the travel bloggers confidently said that they are in no mood to change their travel plans for the present year and that coronavirus is not a significant threat. Out of these 60% travelers, 32% have plans for a local trip, and the rest 68% are planning on an international tour.
- 28% of the travelers confirmed their fear of the virus. They said that they canceled their plans as they did not want to be quarantined after returning from the trip. Many also stated that the health concern of individuals is their primary concern.
- 12% of the travelers reported that their trips were canceled in lieu of their interest. They said that the reasons were beyond their control, and coronavirus has hugely affected their schedule. Their journeys were withdrawn as their hosts and sponsors called it off in perspective of the virus spread.
These results are based on the responses obtained from 38 professional travel bloggers as of 6th March 2020. Travel bloggers are adept at having information about the global travel trends and hence can offer an analysis of the situation along with its prospects.
WHAT DOES THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION RECOMMEND?
COVID-19 is not something to be taken lightly. It is a severe health emergency that has taken the world by storm. At this time, strict restrictions and travel bans have been applied in several countries. Millions of people have been infected, and several thousand have lost their lives to the virus.
The novel coronavirus is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can be fatal in many instances. For older adults, this disease is hazardous as they usually have pre-existing medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure, etc. Numerous cases have also been reported to be asymptomatic, in which people were not sure of being infected with the deadly virus.
In the perspective of the facts as mentioned earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) has laid several guidelines, especially for travelers all around the world:-
- Any travel activity, whether local or international, should be prohibited.
- People are recommended to stay at home and only leave the house to get essential supplies.
- If you have a travel history from a place where the infection was significant, then get yourself tested ASAP and also practice self-quarantine.
- Isolate yourself upon returning from a trip to the foreign land and refrain yourself from contacting anybody.
- Follow the guidelines set by the respective government and authorities of the state.
- Wear a mask when going out and use a sanitizer to keep your hands clean.
- Do not come in contact with anybody and practice social distancing. Maintain a distance of about 6 meters from every person.
It is best to stay at home, given the current situation. Going out at this time can cause many problems. All travel activities should be banned to ensure safety.
